Business Portal — Western Alliance Bank Multi-User Treasury Hub

The Western Alliance Bank business portal is the single multi-user hub where commercial banking customers run every treasury workflow. Treasurers monitor cash across subsidiaries, originate ACH and wire payments, approve positive pay exceptions, configure sweep structures, manage lending relationships, and administer the user base — all under one single sign-on credential. Every click writes to the audit log for regulatory review and internal control testing.

Role-based access aligns the portal with your segregation of duties. An initiator prepares wires but cannot release them. An approver releases wires but cannot change user permissions. A viewer reads statements but cannot touch payments. An administrator manages users but cannot initiate payments. Approval thresholds refine these boundaries — the portal requires two approvers for wires above a dollar amount set by your finance policy, not by the bank.

Single Sign-On and Role-Based Access

One credential, many screens. Roles keep people inside their lane.

Role Templates and Custom Combinations

Preset roles cover 95% of commercial banking customers — Administrator, Initiator, Approver, Viewer, Accountant, Token Holder, Dual Signer. Each preset maps to a bundle of granular permissions. Administrators who need finer control build custom roles combining any permission subset. Role changes require administrator MFA, log to the audit trail, and optionally email notify the affected user.

Approval thresholds refine the permission layer. An approver can release wires up to a per-payment dollar cap set by your finance team. Above the cap, a second approver must co-sign. Above a second threshold, a token-holder must provide a hardware-token code. See wire transfer workflows for the full release chain and Security for the threat model.

Dashboard, Audit Logs, and Reporting

The portal is the control plane; the dashboard is the window; the audit log is the memory.

Treasury Dashboard

Configurable by role. An approver sees a queue of pending actions. A cash manager sees consolidated positions by entity and currency. An administrator sees logins, failed MFA, and user-provisioning activity. A CFO sees the top-line position with drill-down to transaction detail. Widgets include pending approvals, positive pay exceptions, scheduled wires, today's ACH batches, intraday balance changes, and 30-day trend charts.

Immutable Audit Log

Every login, logout, MFA challenge, payment action, approval, user change, and config edit writes an immutable entry. Captured fields include user ID, timestamp (UTC and local), source IP, user agent, action type, affected resource, and success/failure status. Administrators filter by user, date, action type, or affected entity and export to CSV or PDF. Retention: seven years minimum, aligned with federal commercial banking examination cycles.

Activate the Western Alliance Bank Business Portal

Company administrators enroll their team, assign roles, set approval thresholds, configure MFA policy, and begin operating the treasury hub the same day onboarding completes. Dedicated relationship managers help design role structures that match your internal controls. Reach treasury at +1-800-444-7441 Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM Mountain Time to begin.

Business Portal FAQ

Single sign-on, role-based access, dashboards, audit logs, and federated identity.

What is the Western Alliance Bank business portal?

The multi-user treasury hub. Run balances, payments, positive pay, cash management, and user administration from one single sign-on credential. Connects to online banking web and the mobile app.

How does role-based access work?

Administrators pick preset roles or build custom ones. Approval thresholds enforce dual release above dollar amounts. Segregation of duties prevents initiators from approving their own payments. See portal login setup for biometric and MFA configuration.

What appears on the treasury dashboard?

Pending approvals, positive pay exceptions, today's ACH, scheduled wires, intraday balance changes, login activity. Widgets configurable by role. Drill-down into transactions without leaving the dashboard.

How do audit logs work?

Every action writes an immutable entry with user, timestamp, IP, action, and resource. Filter and export CSV or PDF. Seven-year retention supports OCC examinations and internal control reviews.

Is single sign-on available?

Yes. Internal SSO consolidates every bank service under one credential. SAML 2.0 federation connects to corporate identity providers for enterprise customers, preserving MFA and IP whitelisting.
